Close-up of the screw mechanism. We started with the screw and the large ‘wingnut’. Elaborately swooping, winglike infinity arms were forged and then welded onto the ‘wingnut’ to achieve ‘excellent leverage’ while raising and/or lowering the sculpture… The dark steel, dented object with ridged edges is a thumb screw/stop screw to hold the vertical screw in one place, allowing the lazy susan to spin freely without altering the sculpture’s height.
